Mossman Central Mill Company Limited is by nature an innovative Company and constantly looking for opportunities to diversify from being solely a bulk raw sugar manufacturer and exporter.  Mossman will be producing bagged sugar for sale during the 2007 crushing season under the “Daintree Gold” brand

In 2006, Mossman and Mulgrave Mills elected to sell sugar directly to the export market and have established a Queensland bulk raw sugar marketing group to trade independently from Queensland Sugar Limited.

In 2003, research into low GI and functional sugars commenced in partnership with Horizon Science Pty Ltd.   Government funding was sought and the Company received an Ausindustry grant to progress research into low GI sugars and functional sugars.  

In 2006, the Company teamed with KristeveFourspace USSY Pty Ltd to assist in investigating production of soluble fibre from bagasse (cane fibre).  

Mossman Mill is also working with Resis Australia Pty Ltd to trial a sophisticated cane juice and fibre extraction plant to supply overseas markets.   The cane juice is further processed before being sold by Resis Australia.
